Who we are

Pantry Witch (the app and the recipe tool on pantrywitch.com) is offered by the provider named above. These terms apply to your use of both. If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement for apps also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to use Pantry Witch. The AI service behind it may only be used by adults.

AI-generated content

Recipes, nutrition values, receipt readings and dish pictures are created automatically by Google's Gemini AI. They are not tested by people and can be wrong or incomplete: an amount or cooking time can be off, an ingredient can be missing, nutrition values are estimates, and a dish picture is an impression, not a photo of your result.

Check every recipe before you cook it: against your allergies and intolerances (your never-use list is an instruction to the AI, not a guarantee), and make sure meat, poultry, fish and eggs are cooked through. Pantry Witch does not give medical or nutritional advice.

Fair use

Use Pantry Witch for your own cooking, not for commercial purposes. Do not automate or script requests, get around the daily limits, overload the service, try to extract or misuse the AI behind it, or upload content that is unlawful or shows other people. We may limit or block devices that misuse the service.

Your content

What you enter or scan remains yours. You allow us to process it only as far as needed to run the service, which includes sending it to our AI provider. You may use the recipes you create freely for your own cooking. Because they are generated by AI, other users can receive similar recipes.

Availability and changes

The free service is offered without a promise of availability. We may change features and limits, or end the service, and we will tell you in good time if we discontinue it.

Paid plans

Pantry Witch is free for the first recipes, then needs Pro. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: Pro Yearly at the price shown for twelve months, with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers, or Pro Monthly at the price shown per month. The exact price in your currency is shown in the app before you buy.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase; the free trial converts into the yearly subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage and cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the renewal and Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription. Refunds follow the store's own rules.

Pro covers up to 10 recipe generations a day as fair use, receipt scans and dish pictures as described in the app. Prices can change for future periods; you will be told in advance and can cancel before the change takes effect.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential obligations, meaning obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper use of the service possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely, and then only for the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise our liability is excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Apple App Store

If you use the app on an Apple device, these terms are an agreement between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. If a third party claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Law and changes

German law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply.

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We will tell you in the app about important changes; the date at the top shows the current version.
